STUDENT ACTION RELEASES 2010 EXECUTIVE SLATE

Berkeley, CA – March 8, 2009 –

Executive Candidates 2010


Student Action has continued to deliver tangible results for students such as Major Madness, Undergraduate
Research Forum, the formation of the Greek Opportunity Fund, and Courserank. In addition, we have continued
to be strong advocates for major policy changes related to academics and campus development. We plan to
continue this legacy of delivering effective results and emphasizing student voice for the entire student body.

Candidate Statements:

“The ASUC must work to unite the divided voices on our campus in order to coordinate advocacy and defend
public education. Amidst these tough times, our student government must remain the center for leadership at
Cal and continue to cultivate rich student life. I will work to ensure that the ASUC supports the action,
ambition, and academic interests of our diverse and talented student body.” – Noah Stern

“Student organizations and community development is a vital part to our college experience.I will advance the
capabilities of the ASUC in providing equipment, support services, and advising to student organizations. In
addition, I will advocate for student registration fee transparency in order to bring back the student voice in fee
allocation decision-making.” – Nanxi Liu

“The budget cuts have challenged our academic standards. I will advocate for the students to the administration
and to the state in order to make student voice relevant to politics and decision-making. In addition, I will
ensure student safety through community participation and technology implementation. Finally, I will work on
new and innovative projects to make student life more affordable.” – Bundit Kertbundit

“Academics are the common bond between all students at Cal. I will engage students from our diverse
community in order to prioritize academic development while maintaining and promoting campus spaces for
learning. We must be strong advocates of student professional development via alumni networking, online
planning optimization, and personalized career mentoring.” –Yoori Chung
